Celine Lehtinen

Celine Lehtinen, 89, of Varna, and formerly of Utica, passed away at home on March 25, 2025.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 3, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating.

The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Celine was born in Ottawa on October 23, 1935 to Edward and Mertel (Smith) Frawley. She married Jack H. Lehtinen on September 24, 1977. She operated City Limits in Utica for many years.

Celine is survived by three sons, Gregory Ghighi of CA, David (Crystal) Ghighi of Varna, and Dominic Ghighi of FL; two stepdaughters Kathleen Lehtinen of FL and Christine (Andrew) Cohen of FL; two grandchildren Harmonie Ghighi and Jan Ghighi; and one great granddaughter Topanga Sky.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack on May 21, 2009, her son Mark Ghighi, and her brother, Marshall County Sheriff Jim Frawley.
