Bruce E Bernhardt

Bruce E. Bernhardt, 67, of Wenona, passed away May 1, 2026 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. 

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is entrusted with his funeral arrangements. 

Bruce was born in Sandwich on January 1, 1959 to Edward and Virginia (Morris) Bernhardt. He graduated from Sandwich High School and was a welder at Caterpillar. 

He was a lifetime/loyal fan of The Grateful Dead. He was also a fan of Earnhardt Racing and he loved to fish. Bruce means adventurous at heart with endurance.  

He is survived by her daughters, Melissa Conduff and Lyndsey Ahrends; His grandchildren, Jordan Conduff, Dave Effelson, Anthony Towne and Chance Towne; his great grandchildren, Elliana and Elias Mansberry; and his brothers Jim (Bonnie) Bernhardt and Tom Bernhardt. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers; David and Vernon Bernhardt and his parents.
