Brother Marion “Daniel” Sanchez

Brother Marion “Daniel” Sanchez O.S.B., 29, passed away unexpectedly on February 16 at the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca, MN. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday in St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle with the Rev. Thomas Otto officiating. The mass will be available via livestream on the Hurst Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation will be Sunday in the Church from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Bernard Abby Cemetery in Cullman, AL. The Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting with the arrangements.

Brother Marion was born November 25, 1991 in Spring Valley to Armando and Maria (Lattin) Sanchez of LaSalle. He graduated from St. Bede Academy in 2010 and then entered the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, MN. In 2012 he joined the community of St. Bernard Abby in Cullman, AL. In 2016 he professed his solemn vows in the company of his fellow brothers, family, and close friends. He served as the director of the retreat center and as director of the Ave Maria Grotto.
Brother Marion is survived by his parents; Armando and Maria Sanchez of LaSalle and six brothers and sisters; Maria Gabriella (Bruce) Bray of Utica, Rosanna (Jon) Stuckert of Peru, Emily (Dany) Rumbo of Prescott, WI., Jacob (Emma Knirlberger) Sanchez of Colorado Springs, CO., and Luke and James Sanchez at home. He was the proud uncle of Eva, Lexa, and Lia of Utica, Daniel, Noah, Ariana, Armando, and Mila of Prescott, WI., and two nieces on the way, maternal grandmother; Elana (Robert) Boyer of LaSalle and grandfather; Larry Lattin of Bushnell.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Roberto Sanchez and Maria D. Flores.
