Betty Diedrick

Betty Diedrick, 74, of La Salle died March 14, 2021 in OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life with be April 3 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.

Betty was born in La Salle on March 25, 1946 to Emil and Veronica (McGunnigal) Taveirne. She was a waitress at Four Star Restaurant in Peru for over 25 years. She married George H. Diedrick on December 27, 1990 and he died on February 22, 2009. Betty enjoyed going to the casino and gambling. She also liked reading and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling and taking mother/daughter trips.

Betty is survived by one daughter Chrystal Hancock of La Salle; one son Brian (Jennifer) Pohar of Dixon, MO; two grandchildren Dylan and Breeana Pohar; and one brother Robert (Marlene) Taveirne of Austin, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Jon “Scott” Hancock, one sister Rita Jurkas, and one sister in infancy.
