Betty L. Decker

Betty L. Decker, 74, of Wenona, passed away November 28, 2023 with her family by her side in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona with Rev. Will Meachum officiating.  Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Lostant.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM Monday until time of services in the funeral home.

Betty was born in Henry on June 15, 1949 to Leroy and Anna (Hall) Prather.  She married Ron Decker in 1992.  She cooked at Steve and Nancy’s Boardwalk Tap in Wenona, where she enjoyed cooking and the people in the restaurant. 

Betty is survived by three children, Brenda (Jamie) Eilts of Toluca, Robert (Dawn) Wever of Tonica and William Wever Jr. of California; four grandchildren, Jenna Elits, Kayden Eilts, Aubrey Wever, and Brent Wever; one sister Geri Walters of Peoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron in 1997, an infant daughter Brooke Wever in 1981 and four siblings, Helen Swartz, Vivian Beck, Jim and Richard Prather.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home in Betty’s honor to a charity to be named later.
