Barbara Moore-Hrovat

Barbara Moore-Hrovat, 85, of La Salle, passed away on January 11, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, at St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with the Very Rev. Thomas Otto officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Barb was born in La Salle on February 5, 1939 to Joseph and Helen (Ryan) Lannen. She married John Hrovat on February 19, 1992. Barb worked at St. Mary’s and then IVCH as a nurse’s aide and in admitting for over 40 years retiring at the age of 77.

Barb was a member of St. Patrick’s Church where she enjoyed going to church and being a Eucharistic minister. She was an avid cat lover. She was a devoted grandmother.

Barb is survived by her daughter Peggy (Kelly) McMillan of Oswego; son Richard (Lisa) Moore of Oglesby; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; sister Pat (David) Wilson of TX; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, two sons Vincent R. Moore and Brian L. Moore, two brothers Robert Lannen and Vincent Lannen, and one sister Ella Cull.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
