Obituary

Barbara A. Giacomelli, 83, of Peru, formerly of Ladd, passed away March 15, 2021 in St. Margaret’s Health in Peru. She was a resident of Heritage Health in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday in St. Joseph’s Church in Peru with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating.  Burial will be in Ladd Cemetery.  Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until of time of services.

Barbara was born in Chicago on September 11, 1937 to John J. and Dorothy (Kuhl) Giacomelli.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs,Bears and Bulls fan.  She enjoyed going out to dinner, traveling, listening to music and watching TV.

Barbara is survived by one brother Richard Giacomelli of Peru; one nephew John F. Giacomelli of La Salle and two nieces Colleen Giacomelli and Sue Ellen (Matthew) Murrey, both of Massachusetts. 

She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, longtime caregivers, Hank and Elder Ellerbrock, and a sister-in-law; Ellen Janet Giacomelli.
