Alan R. Piltaver

Alan R. Piltaver, 72, passed away in his home on December 16, 2019.                      

A private burial was held at St. Vincent's Cemetery Saturday December 21, 2019. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle assisted the family with arrangements.

Mr. Piltaver was born in La Salle on January 16, 1947 to Joseph and Mary (Pavlak) Piltaver. He graduated from St. Roch's Catholic Grade School and then LaSalle-Peru Township High School. He also attended Illinois Valley Community College. From 1966 to 1971, Mr. Piltaver honorably served with the United States Air Force. He retired from Huntsman Corp. and Flint Hills Resources of Peru, where he was an employee for 38 years. 

He is a retired member of the U.S.W. Union Peru Local 436G. He also was a member of the former St. Roch's Catholic Parish in La Salle. 

Mr. Piltaver is survived by his daughter, Angela Piltaver of Minnesota, his son, Michael Piltaver of Florida, four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers Robert, Elmer, Joseph, Ronald, and Vernon, and one sister, Arlene (Piltaver) Borys.
