William A. “Arnie” Marks, 80, of Wenona, died July 4, 2019 in Manor Court of Peru.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday July 24, 2019 in St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona.
Mr. Marks was born in Streator on July 25, 1938 to Joseph and Corinne (DiGuisto) Marks. He was a graduate of Wenona High School and worked at Oak State in Wenona for many years. He was founder of Boardwalk in Wenona and was on the City Planning Commission. Arnie was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He followed the Wenona Mustangs, Fieldcrest Knights, Fighting Illini, and Northern Illinois Huskies. He was a proud resident of the City of Wenona.
Arnie would like to thank Father Steve and family and friends for all of their kindness. He would also like to thank Geneviene Moran for her excellent homecare, Douglas Beckman for keeping good care of Bill’s property, and Manor Court of Peru for their excellent professional medical staff and outstanding healthcare.
He is survived by one brother Ron (Melodie) Marks of Dekalb; cousins, Joan Work of Phoenix, AZ, Jane (Kevin) Nelson of St. Louis, MO, Carol Schinzel of Wenona, Mary Densberger of East Peoria, Janet Flahaven of AR, Marcia Flahaven of Wenona, Joseph (Carol) Marks of Woodridge , Connie Marks of Palos Heights, Annie (Cal) Marks of NY, and Edward (Angie) Marks of Manhatten.
Pallbearers will be David Wyss, Tim Schlack, Randy White, Steve DeRubeis, John Lauf, and John Mc Allister.
