Timothy Peterson

Timothy “Mouse” Peterson, 49, of Wenona died unexpectedly on September 21, 2017 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Toluca with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona with full military honors conducted by the Wenona and Streator American Legion. Visitation will be 5-8:00 PM Wednesday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time on services in the church on Thursday.

Tim was born in Streator on February 29, 1968 to James D. and Linda (Monk) Peterson. He married Paula Strauch on April 23, 2005. Tim served with the US Air Force from 1986-1990 where he was stationed in Japan. He worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Tim was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, and he enjoyed cruising in his 1969 Cutlass convertible. He was a member of the Wenona American Legion.

Tim is survived by his wife Paula of Wenona, stepdaughter Kylee Schwanke of Wenona, mother Linda Peterson of Streator, brother Eric (Michele) Peterson of Springfield, aunts and uncles Wayne & Donna Melvin of Wenona and Bob & Val Peterson of Oglesby.

He was preceded in death by his father James in 2016.

Memorials may be directed to the Wenona American Legion or Wenona Ambulance Service.
