Terry “Sal” N. Salomone, 60, of Peru passed away unexpectedly August 6, 2019 surrounded by his family at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Monday in St. Joseph’s Church in Peru with Msgr. Richard Soseman officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be 9:30 AM until time of services Monday in the church.
Terry was born in Ottawa on November 26, 1958 to Edward and Bernadine (Reed) Salomone. He married Margo Volpe on April 22, 1978 at St. Roch’s La Salle.
Terry was employed by Pilkington North America for the past 41 years. He recently retired in December 2018. After retirement, he was able to spend quality time with his family and eight grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gambler. Terry enjoyed watching his grandchildren play local sports.
Terry is survived by his devoted and loving wife Margo of Peru; his three daughters Megan (Don) Burrell, Abby (Jake) Kotecki, and Molly (Justin) Sullivan all of Peru; his mother Bernadine Salomone of Peru; twin sisters Marilyn (Tim) Reisel of Ballwin, MO and Marlene (Randall) Williams of Ottawa; grandchildren Caleb, Camryn, and Carsyn Burrell, Sloane, Palmer, and Cal Kotecki, and Chloe and Maggie Sullivan. Terry is also survived by his brother-in-laws Sam and Ron (Rosemary) Volpe and also many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Salomone in 1999 and his in-laws Margaret and Pete Volpe. Also numerous deer, duck, geese, and crappies.
Pallbearers will be Don Burrell, Jake Kotecki, Justin Sullivan, Neal Ford, Philip Reisel, Bryan Williams, and Caleb Burrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Martin, Rick Rynkewicz, Bill Assalley, and Joe Crowther.
