Sheila A. Sekula

Sheila A. Sekula, 76, of La Salle, died peacefully and surrounded by her family in her home on December 22, 2018.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Brett Todd, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in La Salle officiating.  Burial will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.

Sheila was born in Watseka on August 22, 1942 to Gail and Geraldine (Brockway) Kice.  She married John L. Sekula on September 30, 1977.  She enjoyed quilting, collecting polish pottery, and spending time with her family.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in La Salle.

Sheila is survived by her husband John of La Salle; two daughters, Dawn (Bill) Kiesling of Heyworth and Pam (Jim) Whiteaker of Princeton; four grandchildren, Nathan, Lauren, Jeff and Steve; six great-grandchildren, Faith, Rhett, Judson, Lane, Bo and Nash.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Randy Kice.

Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret’s Hospice or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
