Roy “Junior” J. Alleman, 86, of Tonica, died February 20, 2018 in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by family and close friends.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with Rev. Mark Nowakowski officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica with full military services conducted by the Tonica American Legion. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Mr. Alleman was born in Tonica on May 25, 1931 to Roy L. and Leona (Wolfe) Alleman. He married Eloise Johnson. He served with the US Navy from 1952 until 1956.
Mr. Alleman farmed and own and operated the Village Inn in Tonica for over 30 years. He then retired to his apple orchard and vegetable farm, where he sold produce at the local farmer’s markets.
He loved talking to people, feeding the birds, walking through his orchard and spending his last years at his lake.
He is survived by three daughters, Laurie (Reto) Weber of Springfield, VA, Linda Alleman of Falls Church, VA and Cindy (Christopher) Snyder of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Alissa Diaz, Trevor, Allie and Devon Snyder; one brother Kenneth Alleman of Tonica and his beloved dog, Helgi.
Mr. Alleman is preceded in death by one son Larry, two brothers, Donnie and John and one sister Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Chris, Trevor and Devon Snyder, Reto Weber, Doug Cate, and Mitch Urban.
