Robert "Buck" A. Kubera

Robert “Buck” A. Kubera, 61, of La Salle passed away from cancer on Saturday May 20, 2017 in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Kubera was born in Peru on December 20, 1955 to Robert F. and Dolores (Carr) Kubera. Buck attended and graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling. He is retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections in Sheridan where he was a correctional sergeant. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was proud of his dog that was a rescue. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, but his biggest passion was the Chicago Bears. He also was a fan of the Three Stooges.

Mr. Kubera is survived by one brother Daniel (Patricia) Kubera of Inverness; two nieces Kristyn (Michael) Karasch of Hoffman Estates and Megan Kubera of Palatine; one great niece Annabelle Karasch, three aunts Joann Hundt of Peru, Marilyn Carr of Peru, and Rita (Robert) Siebert of La Salle; cousins James (Susan) Kubera of Oglesby, Cynthia Lewis of Phoenix, AZ, David (Kathleen) Ristau of LaVergne, TN, Dianne Arms of Springfield, Mary Kay Ristau of Peru, Sandy (Donald) Slusarek of Oglesby, Shellie (David) Rounds of Ladd,  Ronald (Susan) Siebert of Streator, and Deborah (Mark) Ahola of Albany, NY; and his special friend Debbie Beach Coulby of Palmetto, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
