Robert J. Ashley Jr.

Robert J. Ashley Jr., 65, of Tonica peacefully passed into the Lord’s hands on November 25, 2019.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Peru with Rev. Roger Helgren officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services. Burial will be in the old cemetery in Tonica. The Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bob was born in Spring Valley on December 28, 1953 to Robert James and Emma Lou (Walling) Ashley Sr. He married Karen Richardson on August 18, 2001. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, taxidermy, and caring for his pets. For the past 15 years, he was proud to remodel homes alongside his brother at Builder's Choice. He was also very involved in the church as a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, past board president, and leader of Men In Mission.

Bob is survived by his wife Karen of Tonica; his mother Emma Lou Ashley of Tonica; four children Christina Ashley of Joliet, Holly Ashley of Joliet, Michael Lis of Berwyn, and Christine Lis of Peru; four brothers William (Charlene) Ashley of Maggie Valley, NC, Ronald (Judy) Ashley of Perryburg, OH, Donald (Sue) Ashley of La Salle, and Gary Ashley of La Salle.

He was preceded in death by his father on August 26, 2018.

Pallbearers will be his brothers, Michael Lis, and Andrew Ashley.
