Richard “Dick” Stratton, 73, of Wenona passed away June 20, 2017 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Private services will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona with full military honors. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting his family with arrangements.
Mr. Stratton was born in Streator on June 27, 1943. He married Sharon Murphy on May 16, 1968. He served, as the only child of his family, with the US Army from 1968-1970 during the 10th Offensive. Dick was a machine operator at Anchor Glass in Streator retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Stratton is survived by his wife Sharon of Wenona; children Richard (Debbie) Stratton of Toluca, Anthony (Mindy) Stratton of Streator, Brian (Janet) Stratton of Wenona, Lori (Myron) Crone of Streator, Teresa (Richard) Park of Minonk, and Greg Chromchak of Wenona; grandchildren Nathan and Colton Stratton, Ryan and Skylar Walker, Kayla, Tony Jr., Austin, Devin, Jakob, Jessica, Dalton, and Wade Stratton, Lezli Sparks, Dustin and Courtney Crone, Vicki Kuntz, Nicholas and Eric Block, and Gregory, Bradley, and Toby Chromchak; fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lottie, sister and brother-in-law Betty Lou and Chuck Hultgren, and grandson Brian Stratton Jr.
