Richard "Dick" Repsel

Richard “Dick” Repsel, 78, of La Salle, died July 9, 2019 after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with his friend Pastor Lloyd Johnson of Utica Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will be private in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Friday until time of services.

Dick was born in La Salle on July 14, 1940 to Anton and Laura (Van Mall) Repsel.  He was a La Salle-Peru Township graduate and then served with the US Army. Dick married Elizabeth “Betty” Pezanoski on December 2, 1967.  He was a retired Teamster with Local #722.  After retiring he worked at Repsel Trucking for 10 years.

Dick was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle and very active with the Catholic War Veteran’s, where he held many positions.  He loved spending time with his grandsons, playing euchre, camping and traveling.  He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cub fan.  He enjoyed spending time at John's Place in Peru for his "Daily Coffee Club". There was nothing Dick liked better than an interesting conversation with good friends. He had a large group of friends who he loved to play cards and go out to dinner with.

Dick is survived by his son Mike (Crystal) Repsel of La Salle; his two wonderful grandsons, Aiden and Gavin; one brother Bill (Marla) Repsel of La Salle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty on November 3, 2017, one son David in 1999 and one sister Shirley Uranich.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for a local Cancer Charity in his name.
