Monte Seghi Obituary

Monte J. Seghi, 86, of Dimmick Township passed away surrounded by his family in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on December 23, 2018.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 Monday December 31 in the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of services. A celebration of life will follow at the family’s house with military services conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group.

Monte was born in Oglesby on November 2, 1932 to Armando and Jane (Piaseczny) Seghi. He served with The US Army 187th Airborne during the Korean War. He married Deborah Haight on February 23, 1974.

Monte was a meat cutter and owned and operated Monte’s Place in Peru until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. Monte was an avid Cub fan and member of the LaSalle American Legion Post 426.

He is survived by his wife Debby, one daughter Andrea (Chris) Politsch of Dimmick, two sons; Steven (Colleen) Seghi of Bloomington, IN, and  S.J. (Heather) Seghi of Dimmick.  Nine grandchildren and one sister; Carol Renkosik of Peru.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Raymond Seghi.
