Mary A. Scott, 92, of Ladd, died February 2, 2017 in Brookdale Memory Care in Valparaiso, IN with her daughter Susan Brown at her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 Am Monday in Holy Trinity Church in Cherry with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating.  Burial will be in Ladd Cemetery.  Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is assisting the family.

Mary was born in Ladd on May 16, 1924 to Virgilio and Maria (Pozzi) Palmonari.  She married Robert C. Scott Sr. in St. Benedict’s Church in Ladd on April 26, 1947.  She worked as a waitress and hostess at Rip’s Tavern in Ladd for 36 years.

Mary and Bob were the first Eucharistic Ministers at St. Benedict’s Church. She was a religious education teacher and member of St. Benedict’s Church and Altar and Rosary Society.  She brought communion to people that were unable to attend church.  She volunteered at Lighted Way in La Salle and was very active with Horizon House.  She enjoyed her coffee club and card club with her lady friends.

Mary is survived by one son, Robert (Linda) Scott Jr. of Ladd; two daughters, Cindi (Andy) Orlando of Wyanet and Susan (Robert) Brown of Valparaiso, IN; seven grandchildren, Randy Scott, Tracey Antle, Christopher Scott, Toni Edgcomb, Kristen Kendall, Megan Brown and Scott Robert Brown; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on April 9, 1999, one daughter Mary Ann Scott on February 1, 2009, five brothers, John, Leo, Lou, Joseph and Tony Palmonari. 

Pallbearers will be Randy Scott, Christopher Scott, Scott Brown, Mike Antle, Greg Kendall, and Randy Edgcomb.
