Marion Alice Senica

On the morning of Sunday February 11, Marion Alice Senica 79, of LaSalle, earned her Angel Wings as she entered the gates of Heaven where she was reunited with her loving husband Ron. Just as she would have wished, she died peacefully at her home with her children by her side. 

Mrs. Senica was born on March 1, 1938 in LaSalle to Harry and Dorothy (Fisher) Bierbom.  She married Ronald Senica on September 10,1955 and they began their journey together as husband and wife.  Marion was the proud mother of six wonderful children, whom she would work closely with throughout her life with the various business ventures that the family would take on.  Along with her husband and children, Marion was a key factor to the family’s successes and contributions in the growth and development of the Illinois Valley by farming, developing a number of land and subdivision developments, founding Senica Interstate Towing, Country Style Hair Salon, Senica Appliance, Senica’s Heating and Air Conditioning and their most current endeavor of building Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course. 

Marion enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and hearing the stories of their daily lives.  She also loved to spend time in her garden and taking care of her flowers in her yard and at the golf course. 

Survivors include six children Daryl (Linnea) of Spring Hill, FL., Jeff (Angie) of LaSalle, Wendy (Terry) Fulmer of LaSalle, Sherry Henkel of LaSalle, Jim (Carla) of LaSalle and Frank (Carol) of LaSalle, 15 grandchildren, Daryl of Utica, Jaci and Mary of Spring Hill, FL., T.J. (Kelly) Fulmer of Peru, Lesley (Tony) Rue of Granville, Jaime (Nick) Bazydlo of Ladd, Patty and Liz Cannon of Denver, CO., Veronica (Culie) Hawthorne of LaSalle, Jeffrey of Oglesby, Brian Cannon of LaSalle, Cassidy and Claire of LaSalle, Rachel of Aimes Iowa and Frankie of LaSalle, and 18 great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two brothers Ray Knoblauch  and Charles Bierbom, triplet siblings that passed in infancy, son-in-law Bernie Henkel, and a granddaughter in infancy Christine Senica. 

Memorial may be directed to Alzheimer’s Research. 

Pallbearers will be Daryl Senica Jr., T.J. Fulmer, Jeffrey Senica, Brian Cannon, Frankie Senica, Tony Rue, Nick Bazydlo and Culie Hawthorne. 

Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday February 17th at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in LaSalle. Visitation will be at the golf course from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting her family.
