Marian Dolores Stasell

Marian Dolores Stasell, 85, of rural Streator, passed away in the presence of her loving family on Monday March 5, 2018 at 10:30 PM at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 PM Friday in St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars and Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services in the church. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marian was born on April 13, 1932 in Ottawa to Rudolph and Frieda (Budach) Anthe. She married William Stasell on November 15, 1952 in St. Anthony’s Church in Streator. Marian graduated from Streator High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wenona. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with farming.

Marian treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Marian is survived by her husband William; three children Mark (Laurie) Stasell of rural Lostant, Diane (Norm) Alleman of Toluca, and Jon (Denise) Stasell of rural Streator; ten grandchildren Jamie (Brent) Warnkes, Neal Stasell, Anthony (Emily) Alleman, Brittany Alleman, Tara (Todd) Greskoviak, Joey Stasell, Emily Stasell, Elicia Stasell, Sam Stasell, and Lewis Stasell; seven great grandchildren Hayden and Emma Warnkes, Henry and Louis Alleman, and Lena, Elsie, and Camille Greskoviak; one brother Dale (Diane) Anthe of Peru; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Norma Stasell of Plainfield; best friend Eileen Andree of Streator; and many nieces  and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Katie Stasell, sister and brother-in-law Joseph and Mary Ann Boland, and a good family friend Jim Andree.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
