Margaret “Peggy” Holsinger, 93 of Peru, died at home peacefully and surrounded by her family on December 6, 2018.
Private services were Saturday December 8, 2018 at Peru City Cemetery in Peru with Rev. Alex Garncarz officiating. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle handled her arrangements.
Mrs. Holsinger was born in St. Paul, MN on January 16, 1925 to Henry and Rose (Dovich) Bauer. She married Frank E. Holsinger on November 2, 1946. Mrs. Holsinger was a clerk for the Department of the US Army and Air Force in Washington, D.C. She then worked at Westcox, Electric Utilities, Ronkin and Walmart.
Mrs. Holsinger was all about her family which she adored. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, recipe hunting, cooking, camping and her flower garden. She also enjoyed skating, where she became a Roller Derby Girl. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru and National Camper and Hiker’s Association.
Mrs. Holsinger is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Jim) Till of Peru; two sons, Frank (Debbie) Holsinger of Granville and Robert Holsinger of Peru; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Dorothy Holsinger of Peru. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on October 30, 1994, a grandson Justin Till and one sister Florence Klos.
