Lorraine K. Janko, 93, of La Salle, died peacefully at Heritage Manor on June 30th, 2017.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, at St. Hyacinth’s Church. A memorial Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery.
Lorraine was born to John and Helen (Jagodzinski) Seifert in La Salle on May 8, 1924. She married John Janko on June 11, 1946.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan (Mark) Siebert of Peru, Illinois; two sons, James (Chanpidor) Janko of La Salle and Tom (Catherine) Janko of Arvada, Colorado; five grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Siebert and Tony (Katie) Siebert, both of Orland Park, Illinois, Molly (Jason) Leone of Peru, Matthew Janko of Lakewood, Colorado, and Mark Janko of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Lorraine was blessed with six great grandchildren, Elena, Adelyn and Zach Leone, Sienna and Viviene Siebert, and John Siebert. Also surviving are one sister, Eleanor Argubright, and one sister-in-law, Sally Seifert. Lorraine was a homemaker, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, and was loved by all for her kindness, her generosity, and her smile that could light up a room.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, John Janko, her brother, Bob Seifert, and her parents, Helen and John Seifert.
Memorial donations may be made to the following local organizations: PADS (Providing Advocacy, Dignity, and Shelter for the homeless) and the Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
