John W. Hausaman, 78, of Wenona, passed away July 14, 2017 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday July 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Toluca with Rev. Patrick Greenough O.F.M., Conv. officiating.  Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services.  Full military services will be conducted outside the church after mass by the Wenona American Legion.  Burial will be private.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is handling arrangements.

John was born in Ottawa on May 18, 1939 to Edwin and Mabel (Higgins) Hausaman.  He served with the US Army from 1957 to 1960.  John married Kathleen Nolan in July of 1966 and she died April 16, 1991.  He was an Information Technology Specialist. 

John was a life member of Wenona American Legion and member of St. Mary’s Church in Wenona.  He loved working with computers and was a very caring man.

He is survived by one son, John Hausaman of Oakland, CA; special companion Margaret Littlejohn of Rutland and her children Kelly (Mark) Sandor and their children, Phillip and Jack Sandor of Glen Ellyn  and Derick Littlejohn and Brittany Alleman of Toluca; one sister Dr. Gaile (Henry) Nellett of Marseilles and one brother Wayne (Karen) Hausaman of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and four brothers, Edwin, James Joseph, Gerald Francis and David Allen. Memorials may be directed to Eastern Marshall County Ambulance Service or the Wenona American Legion Post # 8.
