James E. “Jim” Porter, 64 of La Salle, died February 17, 2018 in Aperion Care in Spring Valley.

Family services will be private and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is handling his arrangements.

Jim was born in La Salle on December 30, 1953 to Telfer J. and Nancy (O’Sadnick) Porter. He was a Janitor at La Salle Public Schools. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hanging out with the boy’s at Dug-Out and Walt’s. He was an outstanding three sport athlete at St. Bede.

Jim is survived by his brother Jack (Liz) Porter of La Salle; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one cousin Bridget Albert and two nieces Nora and Sarah Jennings.
