Florence "Flo" W. Missal

Florence “Flo” W. Missal, 94, of Wenona, died the night of October 10, 2018 in Heritage Health in Minonk.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday in St. Mary’s Church in Wenona with the Franciscan Friars officiating.  Burial will be in Wenona Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 PM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona. Additional visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Mrs. Missal was born in Leonore on April 25, 1924 to Joseph and Mayme (Vogel) Salz.  She married Kenneth Missal in St. Mary’s Rectory on November 14, 1942.  After retiring from farming with her husband, Flo worked at Georgetown Restaurant in Wenona.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and very active with the choir.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, embroidering and playing board games.

Florence is survived by two sons Jerry Missal of Peoria and Greg (Shari) Missal of Peru, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister Delores “Sis” Pickard of Wenona, and son-in-law Sid Kaiser of San Jose, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on June 18, 1999; her daughter Lynn Kaiser on June 26, 2011; daughter-in-law Gladys Missal on July 20, 2017; three brothers Bernie, Louis, and Rudy Salz; and three sisters Marge Schafer, Doris Agnew, and Theresa Johnson.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Church.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Pease, Gary Darrow, Gene Agnew, James Pickard, and Jeff Pickard.
