Esther F. (Peart) Safranske, Oglesby, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 9:05 p.m. in St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley surrounded by her family.
Esther was born April 17, 1933 in Arlington to Harvey and Rose (Burgoni) Peart. She graduated from Hall High School and worked at Coveny Ford until it became Ochs & Arnold in Spring Valley prior to marrying Thomas G. Safranske on May 27, 1961. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who always had a ready smile and twinkle in her eye, enjoyed visits, car rides, shopping trips and who believed any time was a good time to have dessert.
Esther is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tom of Oglesby, her five children: Tom (fiancée Cindy Harder) Safranske of Bremen, IN; Steven (Sandy) Safranske of Peru; Esther (Jon) Schultz of Geneva, Kevin (Janet) Safranske of Peoria, AZ; and, Lisa Safranske of Highland Park, her six grandchildren: Elizabeth and Nick Schultz, Lacey and Jessica (fiancé Harry Salt) Safranske and Cassandra and Bradley Safranske, her two sisters: Alice Gorman of Ladd and Edna (Bob) Struthers of Granville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Rose Peart, her brother, Clifford (Sis) Peart, her brother-in-law, Richard Gorman and nephew, Ronald Gorman.
A private celebration of life will be held by the immediate family in June. Donations in Esther’s honor can be made to Parkinson’s disease research of your choice.
