Elizabeth J. Giovannini

Elizabeth J. Giovannini, 84, of 709 15th St., Peru, died July 11, 2018 in Trinity UnityPoint Hospital in Bettendorf, IA.

A memorial mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday August 18 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in La Salle. Visitation will be in the church Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Giovannini was born in La Salle on December 15, 1933 to Frank and Josephine (Boris) Messino. She married John Giovannini on February 16, 1952. Elizabeth loved her family time, reading, going out to eat, and occasional trip to the casino. She was a devoted wife. mother, grandmother, great grandmother,homemaker and a faithful member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in La Salle.

Mrs. Giovannini is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John; one daughter Mary Petre of Peru; two sons Michael (Sandy) Giovannini of Naperville and James Giovannini of Boonville, IN; four grandchildren Eric (Brenda) Petre of Sandwich, Gina Neitzel of Bloomington, Alex (Kelly) Giovannini of Naperville, and John (Colleen) Giovannini of Chicago; five great grandchildren Cheyanne, Marley, Reagan, Kendal, and Rylee.

She was preceded in death by one grandson Nicky Petre, son-in-law Larry Petre, one sister Mary Ann Hack, two brothers William and Gerald Messino.
