Elena Mata

Elena Mata, 83, of Chicago passed away on March 28, 2018 in Aperion Care in Spring Valley.

Cremation rites have been accorded. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Mata was born on January 1, 1935 in La Vara de San Juan, El Oro, Durango, Mexico to Gabriel Mata and Francisca Sanchez.

She is survived by her children Vicente (Carmen) Mata of Peru, Alicia Nieves of Chicago, and Eulalia Mata of Mexico, Olga Mata of California, and Ramon Mata of Mexico; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mata was preceded in death by a grandson and a granddaughter; three brothers: Antonio, Placido, and Pedro; and four sisters Refugio, Juana, Decideria, and Candelaria.
