Donald Armes, 83, of Tonica, passed away July 12, 2017 in Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be private. The Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica is handling his arrangements.
Donald was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 5, 1934 to Oliva and Ethel (Dale) Armes. He served in the U.S. Navy. Donald worked as an Electrician. He married Caroline Niedgelwski in 1969. Donald enjoyed hunting, gardening and building bird houses.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Joe) Minkler of Tonica; one son, Ralph Leer of Milwaukee, WI; two grandchildren, April (Eli William Cook) Soppa and Anthony Michael (Sarah Ann) Soppa; great-grandchildren, Caleigh Jane Soppa, Austin Daniel Soppa, Aubrey Ann Soppa, Faith Ann Cook, Michael Malachi Cook and Summer Grace Cook.
He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline.
