Darlene Vogt, 83, of Ladd, died in her home on November 4, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in Hollowayville United Church of Christ with Rev. Mike Slutz officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is assisting the family with arrangements. The family invites everyone to wear Cubs attire to the services.
Mrs. Vogt was born in Spring Valley on October 24, 1935 to Harold A. and Catherine M. (Meyer) May. She married Carlton Vogt on June 29, 1952. Darlene was a homemaker. Her hobbies included reading and crafting. She was an avid Cub fan and collected Cubs memorabilia. She enjoyed camping at Green River Oaks in Amboy. Darlene was a member of the Hollowayville United Church of Christ.
Mrs. Vogt is survived by one son Wayne (Jacqueline) Vogt of Peru; three daughters Lynn (Brian) Pinter of Arlington, Tammy (Thomas) Helm of Ladd, and Dawn Whalen of Lockport; seven grandchildren Jamie, Nick, Greg, and Zack Pinter, Amanda, Adam, and Austin Helm; six great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Irene May.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlton on March 12, 2017, and her brother Harold May.
Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret’s Hospice or Hollowayville Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
