Christa K. (Stahl) Stewart

Christa K. Stewart, 72, of Spring Valley passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2018 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

A Celebration of Life will be 7:00 PM Friday at the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of services  

Mrs. Stewart was born in Speyer, Germany on November 2, 1945 to Karl and Anna (Muehling) Stahl. She married Otto Bootz. He passed away in 1967 as a result of an automobile accident. She then married James Stewart on March 21, 1969.  

Christa was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.  Our “Oma” as she was known by her grandchildren and extended family, was an amazing woman, wife, “Mutti” and our rock. She was always giving and helped any family members in need. You could always count on her to send notes and cards on nearly every holiday. She enjoyed spending time with her circle of friends and outdoors in her garden.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband Jim of Spring Valley; daughter Manuela (William) Booker of La Salle; two sons Oliver (Kristy) Bootz of Kenmore, WA and Marcus (Dawn) Stewart of Dalzell; eight grandchildren including Cody Booker, Haley Booker, Kiley Booker, Brady Booker, Nicole Bootz ,Natalie Bootz, Stephen (Stacia) Stewart, Cooper Stewart; one great grandchild Teeghan Stewart; a niece Sandra Stahl and her daughters Tina (Cory Lehman) Clausen and her children Dakota, Colton and Caden Clausen and Cara Roberts and her children Angel Clausen and Willow Clausen, two nephews Ingo Woitschach and Patrick Hirsch and one sister Rosemarie Woitschach of Speyer, Germany. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Otto, and one son Thomas Bootz in 1966.
