Carol Lee (Johnson) Stevens

Carol Lee Stevens, 74, formerly of Wenona, passed away October 16, 2019 in Henry Health Care where she was a resident of 4 years.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Terry Broady of Putnam Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in La Salle. Visitation will be 9:00 AM Monday in the funeral home until time of services.

Mrs. Stevens was born in Maywood on September 19, 1945 to Albert and Catherine Johnson. She married Edward Stevens on March 10, 1982. She worked as a waitress and bartender in Wenona and Minonk. She also worked at Haig’s Grocery store in Wenona.

Mrs. Stevens enjoyed fishing and crafting. While in the nursing home, she liked to play Bingo. She was always there for her children, and she enjoyed helping other people as well.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by her daughter Dawn (Brody) Wedekind of Granville; two sons Eric Stevens of Bremerton, WA and Mark (Trina) Stevens of Peru; six grandchildren Levi, Samantha, Riley, Raven, Reena, and Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on July 20, 1998, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
