Carol Jean (Pryde) Krzyaniak

Carol Jean Krzyaniak, 70, of Peru, died March 15, 2019 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after an extended battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday in Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in La Salle with The Very Rev. Paul Carlson officiating.  Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 PM Sunday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.Additional visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Carol was born in La Salle on December 4, 1948 to William and Eleanor (Haley) Pryde.  She married Ronald Krzyaniak  in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle on February 20, 1971.Carol graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1967 and IVCC Nursing School in 1969.  She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and then Illinois Valley Community Hospital until retiring in 2007.  She worked in the OB department most of her years there.

Carol loved her retail therapy (shopping), baking for her grandchildren, lunch with her ladies group, tending for her flowers and caring for all family and friends. She never was too busy to help. She enjoyed their summer condo in the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends.

Carol is survived by her husband Ron of Peru; one daughter Jennifer (Steve) Sines of La Salle; three sons, Jeff (Chris) Krzyaniak of Peru, Brian (Alecia) Krzyaniak of Bettendorf, IA and Mike (Alisa Bezely) Krzyaniak of La Salle; eight grandchildren, Jake, Jack, Ayden, Connor, Elli, McKenzie, Peter and Patrick; one sister Kathy (Kenny) Knafelc of La Salle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kent and Danny Pryde.
Memorials may be directed to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
