Betty E. Scott

Betty E. Scott, 85, formerly of Tonica, died peacefully surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law, on February 12, 2017 in OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday in Tonica United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Nowakowski officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica.  Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services.  The Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Scott was born in Streator on May 22, 1931 to Lester Arley and Mildred Ann (Hutchison) King.  She worked at Westclox and later National Metalwares in Peru.
Mrs. Scott married Joseph Jean Marconnet in Streator on July 3, 1949 and he died on November 10, 1978.  She then married Elwin “Jack” Scott in Tonica on August 21, 1982 and he died February 24, 2005.

Betty was a member of Tonica United Methodist Church and Tonica Methodist Women’s Club.  She also was a member of Tonica 20th Century Club and Thursday Club.  She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughter Ann (Richard) Ramoino of Bloomington and one son James Marconnet of Madison,AL; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and her daughter-in-law Patricia.
