Archie Wright

Archie Wright, 82, of Peru, Illinois, passed away on September 21, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Military rites will be conducted outside the funeral home on Monday by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Veterans Group Honor Guard. Burial will be private on Tuesday in Lyndon Cemetery in Lyndon Station, WI.  Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until of services.

Archie was born in Mauston, WI on December 13, 1935 to Clinton and Alice (Radloff) Wright.  He married Monna Davenport on July 28, 1956 in United Methodist Church in New Lisbon, WI.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru, IL.  

Archie proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard.  He was a retired Maintenance Administrator for Buzzi Unicem.  Archie was also a member of the Oglesby Elks and the Masonic Temple in Peru.  He was also a proud member of the Walleye North America Association. 

Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, basketball and golfing.  He dearly loved his family and attending his grandchildren’s various events.

He is survived by his wife Monna Wright of Peru; his children, James A. (Renee’) Wright of Antioch and Pamela (Robert Valdez) Wright of Ottawa; grandchildren, Crystal Wright, Jennifer Wright, Laura Lenhausen, Ashley Wright and Amy Lenhausen.

He was preceded in death by one son Jeffrey A. Wright and his parents.

Pallbearers will be James Wright, Robert Valdez, Doug Knettle and Jerry Panizzi.
