Vivian “Eileen” Draper, 94, of Spring Valley, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed on April 10, 2017 peacefully in her sleep at her home.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday April 22 in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. David Manion officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of services.
She was born on January 29, 1923 in Wayne County, IL to Kelly & Ethel (Gritton) Irwin. She married George Draper on January 25, 1941 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by 5 sons: Roger (Sue) Draper of Peru, Ronald (Linda) Draper of Normal, Stanley (Cookie) Draper of Oglesby, Steven (Roxanne) Draper of Peru and David (Michelle) Draper of Peru; a daughter, Janet Dean with whom she resides; two sisters: Ruby Van Pernis of Plainfield and Louise Simpson of Palos Heights; 14 grandchildren: Robert (Lisa), William (Jennifer), Daniel (Ann) Patrick (Karen), Bret (Laura), Scott (Shelli), Amanda, Douglas, Chance & Ryan Draper, Sarah (Mike) Pyszka, Megan Draper and Toni Dean and Richard (Marlowe) Dean; two step grandchildren: Tom and Rachel Bailey and twenty one great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters: Laura and Mary; three brothers: Virgil, Gene and Tommy and one grandson Joseph.
Eileen was a homemaker known for her loving nature and ice cream bucket of homemade chocolate chip cookies that were always available.
She had worked at Electric Utilities, Westclox, Hobbs and Heritage Manor.
