I was saddened to hear of Judge Barry's passing, It was my honor and privilege to serve as one of his law clerks (1978-1981), and I remember my days working at his chambers in Ladd fondly. He was never at a loss for energy--tinkering with his cars and motorhome, putting a new roof on his house--and always managed to keep things light around the office. He taught me a lot about life and the law, and I am forever grateful for the experience. An excellent jurist and wonderful man. My sincere condolences to the Barry family.

Toby was a mentor, and got me interested in politics when I was just a brand new attorney in Princeton in 1973. He was a man I aspired to be like. We'll not see the like of him again.

Judge Barry was a wonderful man. He and I co-opted on a case that went to the Illinois Supreme Court. I consider it my privilege to have known him.

Condolences from the entire Green family. Toby was a great friend to my father, the late Judge Albert Green of the Circuit Court of Cook County, as well as to the rest of the family. We remember him with fond memories. He was a great man, and a great Judge.

Sincerely, Jonathan Clark Green

Janet, Patrick, Mark, Michelle, and Dan, you know Toby was so special to me, as my friend, mentor and my boss in the Appellate court. John was so fond of Toby, for keeping me as his secretary.
I will miss him as my date to the court Christmas parties! He always said "Don' t. miss any vacations!" I follow that advice each and every day.

My love to all of you!
Tina

I met Justice Barry during the Third District campaign in 1974 and remained acquainted with him over the years. I liked him. He was always friendly and helpful.
