Ruthetta (Wayker) Davis

Ruthetta “Tetta” Davis 69, of 324 East 3rd St. Spring Valley, died January 20, 2017 in O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a short illness. 

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in St. Patrick’s Church in La Salle with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-7:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with a rosary to be recited at 5:30 PM. Additional visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of services.

Mrs. Davis was born in Peru on December 3, 1947 to Leroy and Lucile (Flannery) Wayker. She married Robert “Ozzie” Davis on May 18, 1984. She worked for the U.S. Post Office in the Customer Service Department in La Salle for 32 years. Tetta was a member of St. Patrick’s Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She enjoyed playing in her euchre club with her lady friends and volunteering at PADS.

Mrs. Davis is survived by one brother Michael Wayker of Spring Valley, one uncle John Flannery of Joliet, and numerous cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 13, 2005, and one brother in infancy.
