Realia M. “Cookie” Brizgis, 92, of rural Arlington died the morning of November 28, 2017 in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday in Holy Trinity Church in Cherry with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will be in Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is assisting the family with arrangements.
Realia was born in Ladd on November 23, 1925 to Peter and Emma (Pozzi) DeBernardi. She married Edward J. Brizgis in St. Benedict’s Church in Ladd on February 7, 1948. Mrs. Brizgis worked at Westclox and then Ladd Elevator. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and wintering in Fort Myers, FL. She was a member of the Red Hatter’s.
Realia is survived by her nephew James (Marsha) DeBernardi of Ottawa; three nieces Aimee (Joe) Twardowski Sr. of Mark, Audrie (Tadd) Lundquist of LaMoille, and Arlene (Kurt) Peterson of Roanoke; and ten great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on June 19, 2003 and two brothers James and Peter Debernardi.
Pallbearers will be Jack Donna, Kevin Merkel, Kurt Peterson, Tadd Lundquist, Joe Twardowski Sr., Colton Peterson, Austin & Wyatt Lundquist, and Joey & Tommy Twardowski.
