Margaret E. (Steinbach) Rose

Margaret E. Rose, 66, a longtime resident of La Salle, passed away October 7, 2016 in St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating.  Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley.  Visitation will be 9:30 AM Saturday until time of services.

Marge, as she was commonly referred to by close friends and relatives, was born June 29, 1950 in Albia, IA to William and Deena (Roberts) Steinbach.  She spent many years employed as a nurse at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.  Marge enjoyed arts and crafts in her spare time.  In her later years, she was president of the resident council at Asta Care Center in Toluca, where she was also a resident.

She is survived by sons, William H. Rose of Raymond, NH and Michael Henkins of Spring Valley; two grandchildren, Calvin and Margaret Rose of Bethel, VT; a brother Daniel Steinbach of La Salle; nephews Marcus and Shane Steinbach and one niece Julie Johnson.  She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
