Joseph A. Trumpinski

Joseph “Joe” A. Trumpinski, 87, of Tonica, died August 18, 2016 at Illinois Veteran’s Home at La Salle.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday in the Hurst Funeral Home in Tonica with Rev. Mark Nowakowski officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica with full military services conducted by the Tonica American Legion.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Monday until time of services.

Mr. Trumpinski was born on December 30, 1928 to Anton and Katherine (Novitski) Trumpinski.  He married Laura Kreiser on November 19, 1949.  Joe served in the US Army and farmed prior to going to work at Tonica Lumber where he worked for 30 years before retirement.

Joe always had a big garden, enjoyed building things and raising rabbits.
He is survived by children, Terry (Vickie) Trumpinski of Tonica, Toni Melanson of Tonica and Bobby Joe (Kathy) Trumpinski of Oglesby; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister Helen Zielke of Chicago.  

He was preceded in death by his wife on February 1, 2014, parents, one sister Katherine Butkus and two brothers, Charles and Peter Trumpinski.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Brian, Scott and Todd Trumpinski, Kim Sandor, Jennifer Wrobleski, Amber and Ashley Samolitis.

Memorials may be directed to the family or donors choice.
