Joseph P. Ridley Sr.

Joseph P. Ridley Sr., 61, of La Salle, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday in Grace Bible Fellowship in Peru with Pastor Bill Ultch and Pastor Tyler Sultze officiating.  Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of services. At 5:00 PM, the family will be taking a motorcycle ride to the Middle East Conflict Wall Memorial in Marseilles which was built by the Local #393 Laborers Union of which Joe was a member. Joe was an avid Freedom Run Rider, but he was unable to participate this year. Anyone is welcome to join the family in honor of Joe and his appreciation for the wall and motorcycles. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is handling arrangements for his family.

Joe was born in Greeneville, TN on February 18, 1956 to Gilbert and Anna Lou (Hendry) Ridley.  He married Linda L. Olmsted on February 2, 1980.  He was a faithful servant to the Lord and his community while dedicating his time to his family.

Joe was an Elder at Grace Bible Fellowship in Peru and was a charter member since established in 1993. He graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1974.  Joe worked with Len Trovero Construction for 29 years while being a union laborer with Local #393.  He enjoyed the opportunity to actively participate in the Regional Patriot Guard missions. 

Joseph is survived by his mother Anna of Peru; one sister Teresa (Joe) Skoflanc of Peru; one brother Russ Ridley of Peru; his wife Linda of La Salle;  daughter Melissa (Emery) Hetherington of Peru; sons, Joseph (Elena) Ridley Jr. of Tonica, Jonathan (Jodie) Ridley of Missouri, and Logan (Shannon) Ridley of Peru; daughter Delaney (Ryan) Blauw of Schaumburg; grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan, Dalis, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Johanna, Savanna, Lydia, Georgia and Logan Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert on July 3, 2013 and his brother Roger on August 8, 2009.
