Janice M. Savitch

Janice M. Savitch, 70, of La Salle, died unexpectedly on July 24, 2017 while vacationing with her family in Wisconsin. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 AM in Queen of the Holy Rosary Memorial Shrine in La Salle with Rev. Jacob Valle officiating. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 until time of services in the church.

Mrs. Savitch was born in Spring Valley on September 13, 1946 to Joseph and Stella (Busto) Menendez. She married Joseph A. Savitch on January 6, 1968. She worked in retail at Bergners. Janice enjoyed cooking. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church.

Janice is survived by her husband Joseph of La Salle; one daughter Kathy (Joseph) Ward of Mahomet; one son Joseph (Stacy) Savitch of La Salle; four grandchildren Haley Coyne, Kaitlin Coyne, Alyssa Savitch and Joey Savitch.  

Pallbearers will be Haley and Kaitlin Coyne, Joseph Ward, Jeff, Jacob and Nick Martin, Quillard Skinner and Matthew Muenchow.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hosptial.
