James W. Duncan

  James Wesley Duncan, age 74, of Morris Illinois, passed away at 7:48 pm on November 17, 2015, at the Joliet Community Hospice Home with his loving family at his side.
  Born November 8, 1941, in Indianola Mississippi, Jim was the son of William and Laura Jane (Butler) Duncan. He married the love of his life, Lora Lee (Bain), on July 2, 1960.  They just shared their 55th wedding anniversary.

  Jim retired from Caterpillar after 41 years of service.  He was an active member of the Downers Grove Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed shooting trap with his son and grandson at the club.  Jim spent many years as a student of the martial arts and held a first degree black belt.  He will be remembered most as a wonderful husband and father who cherished the time he spent attending all the grandchildren’s numerous activities.

  Survivors include his wife, Lora Lee (Bain); children, Steve (Tracey) Duncan of Minooka; Sandi (Jerry) Anderson of Channahon; four grandchildren; McKenna, Bryce, Marlee and Breah; his brother, Paul Duncan of Channahon and a nephew, Kevin Duncan of New York.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Martha Duncan.

  Visitation will be held from 10 AM - Noon Saturday (November 21, 2015) with a funeral service to follow at the First Baptist Church, in Morris, IL.  Pastor Odis Weaver will officiate.  Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.

  Bryan Baker, funeral director through Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle is in charge of the arrangements.
