Guadalupe “Lupe” Perez, 71, of Peru died peacefully November 4, 2017 in St. Patrick’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Naperville.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle with Rev. Jacob Rose, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until time of services.
Mr. Perez was born in McCalester, OK on May 9, 1946 to Felimon and Tiburcia (Huerta) Perez. He married Maryanna Kacprzak on September 18, 1965 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Spring Valley. He worked as a tool and die maker at Catepillar and then retired from Rolling Mills in La Salle.
Lupe was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed golfing and watching Western and action movies.
He is survived one daughter Joann (Mike) McLaughlin of Aurora; three sons Greg (Diane) Perez of Naperville, Mike Perez of Peru, and Eric (Kelly) Perez of Joliet; five grandchildren Amber, Gregory, Dillon, Logan, and Charlotte; and one brother Rafael (Harriett) Perez of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maryanna on August 7, 2005, his parents, one brother Angel Perez, and two sisters Veda Dossman and Hope Marroquin.
