Dorothy A. Lund, 94, of Peru passed away peacefully on February 7, 2016.
Mass Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Saturday with a visitation at 10:00 in St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle with Fr. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at the Peru City Cemetery. The Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting her family.
Dorothy was born June 27, 1921 in LaSalle to Valentine and Johanna (Albrecht) Cigolle. She married Frank H. Lund at Saint Roch’s Church in LaSalle on April 23, 1945.
She loved spending time with her family and traveling to see her children and grandchildren. Family holidays and annual summer reunions at the Lake of the Ozarks were highly anticipated. Mrs. Lund was very active in her congregation at Saint Patrick’s and her children’s schools, Saint Patrick’s and Saint Bede Academy. She enjoyed volunteering with the Ladies of Charity at Saint Patrick’s and spent many hours cleaning the church with her crew.
Mrs. Lund is survived by two sons Tom (Nancy) Lund of Omaha, NE and Jim (Sue) Lund of Leawood, KS. Two daughters, Karen (Mike) Stoltz of Little Rock, AK and Mary Alice (Gary) Eiten of Peru, IL; daughter-in-law Linda Lund of Wyckoff, NJ; and 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Michael Lund; one son-in-law, Mike Stoltz; three brothers, Charlie, Joe and Ed Cigolle and two sisters, Jennie Mancini and Mary O’Donnell.
Her pallbearers will be her seven grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Saint Patrick’s Church and Saint Bede Academy.
