Doris “Dorie” Born, 88 of La Salle, died surrounded by her family on February 6, 2017 in Heritage Healthin Peru.
Cremation rites will be accorded and burial and graveside services will be in Oakwood Cemetery in La Salle at a later date. The Hurst Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Ms. Born was born in Peru on December 10, 1928 to Edward and Louise (Meyer) Born. She graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School in 1947. She worked at Westclox and then American Nickeloid.
She was an artist, especially oil painting and enjoyed floral designing.
Ms. Born is survived by her sister, Lila Born of La Salle and her caregiver and cousin Roxann (James) Stewart of Utica. She was preceded in death by her parents.
