Constance "Connie" Marini

Constance “Connie” Marini, 81, of Peru died the evening of October 16, 2017 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Monday in St. Joseph’s Church in Peru with Rev. Jacob Rose and Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Mrs. Marini was born in Peru on May 9, 1936 to Frank and Helen (Ratajczak) Hylla. She married Robert P. Marini on September 24, 1955. She worked at Westclox and then Debo’s Ace Hardware in Peru. She retired as a bookkeeper at Peru Federal Savings & Loan, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, South Shore Boat Club, and Cedar Point Sportsman Club. She loved her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking,  traveling, gardening and working in her yard.

Mrs. Marini is survived by her husband Robert of Peru; four children Deb (Henry) Hackman of La Salle, Ron (Amy) Marini of Peru, Greg Marini of Grand Rapids, MI, and Kathy (Mark) Theesfeld of La Salle; eight grandchildren Brielle and Tyler Hackman, Nina (Adam) Hoste, Evan Marini, Ashely Marini, Hannah, Jacob, and Madalyn Theesfeld.

She was preceded in death by one grandson Andy Marini, three brothers, and one sister.
