Bette J. Koehler

Bette J. Koehler, 83, of Peru passed away at 4:43 AM May 25, 2016 in Manor Court of Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:30 PM Saturday in Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in La Salle with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek OSB officiating. Burial will in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Webster Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until noon in the Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle.

Mrs. Koehler was born in Spring Valley on July 10, 1932 to Bernard and Elsie (Diding) Doyle. She married Donald C. “Barkey” Koehler on August 26, 1950 in Queen of the Rosary Shrine in La Salle. Mrs. Koehler was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph’s Church and Altar & Rosary Society.

Mrs. Koehler is survived by two sons Richard (Marcie) Koehler of Peru and Gregory (Wendy) Koehler of Oswego; five grandchildren Matthew, Paul, Mark, Catherine Koehler, and Cody (Adi) Pynenberg; seven great grandchildren; one brother Charles (Jeannie) Doyle of Standard; and one sister Beverly Camatti of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 6, 2013; one grandson Adam Koehler; four brothers Bernard, Richard, James, and Donald Doyle; and two sisters Grace Doyle and Dorothy Camatti.

Pall bearers will be Matthew, Paul, Mark, and Randy Koehler, Adi Pynenberg, and Don Yerly. Honorary pall bearers will be Catherine Koehler and Cody Pynenberg.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed to her favorite charities.
